Platforms for Values Education @ Peiying
1. Student Leadership Development Programme
Aims
-
provide opportunities for student to lead and serve self, peers and school.

instill in students a sense of self-belief, self-discipline and a sense of belonging to the school.

provide opportunities for students to acquire leadership skills
3-Tiered Leadership Roles
In Peiying Primary School, we build character and develop our students’ potential through the Student Leadership development Programme. The school provides leadership opportunities to stretch students’ abilities to lead self, peers, school and community. The school nurtures leadership potential of its students through provision of leadership opportunities and trainings.
We customised leadership trainings to build character in our students. The ‘I Can Lead’ – is a customised school-wide leadership programme for Primary 1 to Primary 6.
2. Values in Action (VIA)
Our VIA programme aims to
- develop our students to be active contributors and concerned citizens, fulfilling their responsibility to peers, school, community and nation.
The school’s VIA programme focuses on two key areas; Act of kindness and Environmental Conservation. Through the school’s VIA programmes, students are given the opportunities to be actively involved in:

3. National Education
(a) NE Learning Journeys
(b) Heritage Trails
In addition to our learning journeys, our school also conducts Heritage Trails for our students to help them bridge their understanding of the knowledge gained from their Social Studies lessons and our National Education principles.
During our in-house trails, students work in groups for their assigned tasks. They would get the chance to explore the Heritage displays around the school to learn more the contributions of our founding fathers, our languages and also the traditions and practices of our diverse ethnic groups.
4. PRIDE Star Award
PRIDE Star Awards aims to:
- encourage students to demonstrate core values consistently.
- Recognize students for demonstrating the core values, showing good character and for being a role model among their peers.
We encourage and affirm students for their exemplary conduct, showing good character and for being a role model among their peers. Students will be given the following awards based on the values demonstrated:
- Perseverance Star
- Respect Star
- Integrity Star
- Diligence Star
- Empathy Star
5. Values for Breakfast
Values for Breakfast is a classroom-based assembly programme. These lesson packages are design to engage students in the explicit teaching of the school core values. These lessons help our students to gain better understanding of the core values.
